Christmas Present has a double meaning for this release: A gift to you, the listener, from these 16 artists; but also a reference to these 16 brand new tracks - a collection of the best holiday music in the present repertoire of the “Harp Guitar Collective.”  Thus, it follows the thread began with Christmas Past, our first holiday harp guitar compilation.

As the nearly two years of production on this album progressed, we realized we were putting together a very compelling collection of both familiar and unfamiliar seasonal tunes from around the world.  In addition to English classics and American popular tunes, the selections included rare Spanish, German, French and Swedish carols, and even a Hanukkah song.  We included these more obscure selections because they are so wonderfully melodic - and sound so “Christmas-y” – that, even upon first listen, they sound “familiar.”  It is our hope that they become a regular part of each listener’s annual holiday celebration.

Similarly, many of the players’ names on this Harp Guitar Collective compilation will be familiar to you, and some will be brand new.  You may remember the former from previous Harp Guitar Music compilations Beyond Six Strings, Harp Guitar Dreams and Further Beyond Six Strings; we hope you’ll get to know our new instrumentalists equally as well in the future.

Please enjoy this musical Christmas present, which we believe represents the best possible holiday harp guitar music of the present harp guitar collective.
